Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi got his first degree at De Montfort University in England.

The English Premier League midfielder revealed this in an interview with Football Daily explaining that the degree will give him more options outside of football.

Ndidi said business and management knowledge would come in handy as he plans to go into business after retirement.

He said, “Yeah, I’m done. I liked a 10 lesson class that can enroll me in a real college degree.

In 2019, Ndidi was interviewed by Sportsmail and spoke at length about his desire to continue his education while being an active footballer.

“I have free time, so instead of sitting around and playing FIFA, it’s good to understand the four walls of school,” Ndidi told Sportsmail.

“In Nigeria, some players want to play football and then they forget about school. But if you do both, you can carry on with the one that works, instead of just hoping for football, football – and you’re not there. will not arrive.

Ndidi also spoke of a vision to create more options outside of football for Nigerian youths.

“All my life I’ve wanted to play football and it’s my career now, but my dad pressured me not to go that route because he wanted me to stay in school. He wasn’t not convinced I was doing the right thing until he first saw me on TV, playing for the national under-17 team.

“Nigeria’s population is massive and it’s so difficult to get the football rank, so I have a clear vision of a place where you can play football and study, whether it’s Lagos or Abuja.

“I spoke to my sponsor to make this happen. If the kids aren’t doing well in football, I want them to think they can get a degree and work, instead of wandering the streets.
