BHU student Satrughan Singh tops GATE 2022 in geophysics

New Delhi:

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) students have once again brought laurels to the university by shining in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022. A student from the Department of Geophysics of the Institute of Science, Mr. Shatrughan Singh Choudhary has secured the top spot in India, the BHU said in a press release.

Professor Rajeev Bhatla, Head of Department of Geophysics, said, “Students in the Department of Geophysics performed exceptionally well at GATE 2022, with Shatrughan Singh Choudhary earning No. 1 in India.”

Mr. Choudhary currently works as a research assistant in the seismic imaging center of the department of geophysics. Additionally, 15 of the top 50 ranking holders are from that same department. Four of the top 10 rankings were also entered by BHU geophysics students, the university said.

The Engineering Graduate Recruitment and Admission Test was held from February 5 to 13 at various test centers across the country. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur announced the result of GATE 2022 on March 17 on the official website —
