The government of Jammu and Casmir has appointed Prof. Nilofer Khan as Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir for the first time in its history.

- Professor Nilofer Khan has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kashmir.
- She replaced Professor Talat Khan.
- She worked in the home science department.
The administration of Jammu and Kashmir headed by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday appointed Prof. Nilofer Khan as Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir. Professor Khan worked in the Department of Domestic Science.

LG Manoj Sinja, who is also Chancellor of the University of Kashmir, said in a statement that “in exercising the powers vested in him under Section 12 of the Universities of Kashmir Act 1969 and of Jammu, he (Manoj Sinha), Chancellor of Kashmir University, hereby appoints Prof. Nilofer Khan, Department of Home Science, University of Kashmir, as Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University for a term three years from the date on which it takes over, according to the terms and conditions to be notified separately.”
She will replace Professor Talat Ahmad, whose term ended in August 2021.
