Wall Street Bound launches its first stock picking challenge for college and university students

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Wall Street Bound, Inc. (WSB), an emerging nonprofit 501(c)3 financial education organization with a mission to recruit, train and mentor diverse talent and underrepresented in colleges and universities for careers in finance, will launch its first Student Stock Picking Challenge in October 2022.

Restricted to Wall Street Bound alumni and students currently enrolled in programming, the WSB Stock Picking Challenge is an opportunity for students to apply their knowledge and skills, experiencing building and managing stocks. a simulated portfolio of $100,000. The challenge, which will run from October 2022 to April 2023, will provide the top performing students with scholarships (1st place: $2,500, 2nd place: $1,000, 3rd place: $500), with the winners being determined by risk-adjusted returns and a presentation of the WHY behind their portfolio construction decision-making. Submissions will be judged by a three-member panel, including CNBC “Halftime Report” regular and Ritholtz Wealth Management CEO “Downtown” Josh Brown and Columbia Investment Management Company CEO Kim Lew.
